Monsoon Travel Advice

Traveling overland through the Himalayas during the monsoon season (June to September) presents severe road hazards, including heavy mudslides, flooding, and unpredictable route closures. To ensure your journey to Tibet remains safe, timely, and deeply spiritual, we highly encourage taking a flight to Lhasa or Chengdu instead of risking mountain highways.

People & Traditions

The devout Tibetan people live a life deeply intertwined with centuries of sacred Buddhist practice. From the high-altitude valleys to the holy steps of Lhasa, daily life is a continuous expression of mindfulness, compassion, and ancestral heritage.

Daily rituals like spinning copper prayer wheels (Mani Khorlo) and walking sacred kora paths around temples define the rhythm of life. During major festivals like Losar (Tibetan New Year) and Saga Dawa, the air fills with juniper smoke, vibrant cham dances, and thousands of pilgrims gathering in unified faith.
